The drug war has resulted in an ever-increasing prison population for non-violent, victimless, crimes.
This has disproportionately affected people of color. Fighting the drug war and maintaining prisons, for those who committed victimless crimes, ties up a lot of money. We need to remove the stigma of marijuana and other recreational drugs. They should be treated no differently than alcohol. Those with possession charges should have their records cleared so they can freely return to society.
The growing of cannabis for home use should be allowed.
